Nigel qualified as a dentist from Newcastle University in 1979. After several years of general practice, Nigel gained his Msc in Endodontics from Guys and the Eastman Dental schools in 1994, joining The Briars Dental Centre a year later.

In 1996, Nigel gained membership in Restorative Dentistry (Endodontics), at the Royal College of Surgeons, London and Glasgow. Nigel proceeded to excel in the field of Endodontics and in 1999, was one of the first UK Endodontists to be admitted to the Endodontic Specialist Register.

Between 1994 and 2001, Nigel held a part-time teaching post at Guys and St.Thomas’ Dental School, teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Nigel currently teaches part-time at the Eastman Continuing Professional Development Centre in London and for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He lectures on endodontics to general practitioner groups within the UK and has also taught overseas in Italy, the Republic of Ireland and Sweden.

Special work interests include all aspects of endodontic therapy and physiology of the dental pulp.
