Is Tooth Whitening Safe?
Tooth whitening is completely safe when performed by a qualified dentist. Firstly the patient must undergo a full check-up to ensure there are no open cavities or untreated gum disease.
Unresolved issues can cause intense discomfort and further complications. Crowns and fillings will also not change colour.
The dentist will then prescribe the correct concentration of hydrogen peroxide to effectively whiten the patient’s enamel without damaging the teeth.
Some beauticians may provide tooth whitening systems, though it is not legal for them to possess or prescribe hydrogen peroxide gel in the required concentrations.

So How Does it Work?
A thin, transparent tray covers the teeth and holds a whitening gel against the surface of the tooth. Hydrogen peroxide, the active ingredient in the gel, soaks through the enamel to gently remove stains, both lightening and brightening the teeth. The Process
Your dentist will take impressions of the upper and lower teeth as required. Our expert technicians then construct your personalised tooth whitening trays. Upon revisiting the surgery, the trays are tested to ensure they fit accurately. You will then be shown how to apply the gel to the trays and how to wear them over the teeth.
Either the upper or lower jaw can be whitened individually, or at the same time.
How Long Does Tooth Whitening Last?
Results depend on numerous factors, primarily how the teeth are kept post whitening. If basic care is taken, your teeth will always be brighter than they were previously.
